Ep. 244 Briiv Airfilter - the pursuit of creating a sustainable consumer product

Briiv uses 100% renewable and natural materials to filter the air in your home or office environment, creating clean, safe air so you can breathe, as nature intended. Briiv is a UK based brand, which has set out to solve one of the key environmental problems with air purification devices. The filters.

Current air purifiers use a combination of glass fibres and plastic. Once they reach the end of their life (typically 6-8 months) they are disposed of and head straight to landfill. As a society, we use 6000 tonnes of these filters every year, which take a millenia to decompose.

The Briiv Air Filter is made with 100% biodegradable filters and manufactured with 90% natural and recyclable materials, such as bio-plastic made from elephant grass.

In future, as an organisation, Briiv and its parent company FiveCreate, aim to create innovations in traditionally carbon-heavy industries and marketplaces, to reduce environmental impact as much as possible and set the standard for eco-design and eco-manufacturing.
